Share an invoice on WhatsApp or as a link — free on every plan

Quick answer

Every invoice in Tiram has a free Share on WhatsApp button that opens your own WhatsApp (personal or business, whatever's on your device) with a message pre-filled and a link to a public, read-only receipt page — no WhatsApp Business API setup required. A Download PDF button works the same way for any other channel. This is separate from, and included on every plan ahead of, Tiram's optional Gold-and-up automated WhatsApp Business sending.

1

Workflow step

The Share on WhatsApp button

On any invoice's detail page, Share on WhatsApp opens a wa.me chat link — pre-filled with the invoice number, total, and a link to the receipt — in your own WhatsApp app (personal number or Business app, whatever you already have installed). You press Send inside WhatsApp yourself; nothing is sent automatically on your behalf. It's disabled with a tooltip if the customer has no phone number on file.

2

Workflow step

What the customer sees on the receipt link

The link opens a public, unauthenticated, read-only web page — invoice number and date, your business name/GSTIN/address, line items with HSN/quantity/price/tax, and the grand total, styled like your chosen bill format. Your customer needs no login to view it. For privacy, only the customer's name is shown on this public page — their phone number, GSTIN, email, and address are never exposed on a link that could end up forwarded or bookmarked.

3

Workflow step

Download PDF, for any other channel

The Download PDF button next to Share on WhatsApp saves the same invoice as a real PDF file, ready to attach to an email, SMS app, or any other channel you use — not just WhatsApp.

4

Workflow step

Sharing history, so you know what went out

Every share — a WhatsApp link, a PDF download, or a print — is logged on that invoice's Sharing history panel, showing the channel, the time, and which teammate did it. Useful when a customer says they never received a bill.

5

Workflow step

How this differs from automated WhatsApp Business invoicing

If you'd rather send bills automatically from your own registered WhatsApp Business number, with Meta-approved templates and delivery/read receipts tracked per message, that's a separate, deeper feature — see [Send GST invoices on WhatsApp](/resources/whatsapp/send-invoices-on-whatsapp). It requires connecting a WhatsApp Business number and is included from the Gold plan; the free Share on WhatsApp button covered here needs neither and works on every plan.

Workflow step

Which Tiram plan includes invoice sharing?

Sharing an invoice as a WhatsApp link or a PDF download is included on every Tiram plan — Silver, Gold, and Platinum — with no setup and no plan gate.

Quick answers

Can I share an invoice on WhatsApp without WhatsApp Business API setup?
Yes. Every invoice has a free Share on WhatsApp button that opens your own WhatsApp with the receipt link pre-filled — no Business API connection needed.
What does a customer see when I share an invoice link?
A public, read-only receipt page with the invoice details and your business info — only the customer's name is shown, never their phone, GSTIN, email, or address.
Is sharing an invoice on WhatsApp free on every Tiram plan?
Yes, including Silver. Only the separate, automated WhatsApp Business sending feature is Gold-and-up.
Can I download an invoice as a PDF instead of sharing a link?
Yes — a Download PDF button sits next to Share on WhatsApp on every invoice.

FAQs

Where's the Share on WhatsApp button?
On the invoice detail page, next to Download PDF.
Does the customer need an account to view a shared invoice?
No — the receipt link is public and read-only, no login required.
Is my customer's phone number or GSTIN visible on the shared link?
No. Only the customer's name appears on the public receipt page; phone, GSTIN, email, and address are intentionally left out.
Can I see who shared an invoice and when?
Yes — the invoice's Sharing history panel logs every WhatsApp share, PDF download, and print, with the teammate and timestamp.
Do I need a WhatsApp Business number to use Share on WhatsApp?
No — it opens whatever WhatsApp (personal or Business app) is already on your device. A registered WhatsApp Business number is only needed for the separate automated-sending feature.
Which plan do I need for this?
None — it's included on Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
