Workflow guide
GST liability summary: see your GST collected by slab in Tiram
Quick answer
Tiram's GST summary report (Reports → Insights → GST summary) takes every issued invoice in a date range and groups the output GST you've collected by tax slab — say 5%, 12%, or 18% — showing taxable value, CGST, SGST, and IGST for each slab, plus a total. It's part of the Insights tab and is included on Tiram's Gold and Platinum plans; Silver has a simpler always-available GST-collected tile on the main dashboard instead.

Workflow step
What the GST summary report shows
For any date range, the report groups every issued, partially-paid, or paid invoice by its tax slab and shows, per slab: taxable value, CGST, SGST, IGST, and a total tax figure — plus KPI tiles for Total Taxable, Total Tax Collected, and Active Slabs across the whole period, and a chart toggle between a pie and bar view of tax distribution by slab.
Workflow step
What it doesn't do: net input tax credit
The GST summary report shows output tax only — GST you've collected on sales — grouped by slab. It doesn't subtract input tax credit (GST you've paid on purchases/expenses) to arrive at a net amount payable. If you need a true net-of-ITC figure, Tiram's [Profit & Loss report](/resources/reports/profit-loss-for-small-business) computes a Net GST line (output tax minus input tax from recorded expenses) as part of the full P&L statement — the two reports are separate screens answering different questions.
Workflow step
Reading a slab breakdown at filing time
The per-slab CGST/SGST/IGST split mirrors how your GSTR-1 return is structured, so the summary is a useful sanity check before filing: if the 18% slab's total tax here doesn't match what your GSTR-1 export shows for the same period, that's worth investigating before you file. See [GSTR-1 export](/resources/gst-billing/gstr-1-export) for the filing walkthrough itself.

Which Tiram plan includes the GST summary report?
The GST summary report is part of the Insights tab and is included on the Gold and Platinum plans; the Silver plan does not include it, on either the cloud app or the offline desktop app. Every plan, including Silver, still shows a GST-collected-this-month figure as a dashboard tile — it's only the full per-slab breakdown, date-range control, and chart that require Gold or above.
Quick answers
- What is a GST liability summary report?
- It's a report that groups the GST you've collected on sales by tax slab (5%, 12%, 18%, etc.), showing taxable value and the CGST/SGST/IGST breakdown for any date range.
- Does the GST summary show net GST payable after input tax credit?
- No — it shows output tax collected by slab only. A net-of-input-tax-credit figure is computed separately inside Tiram's Profit & Loss report.
- Do I need Gold to see the GST summary report?
- Gold and Platinum. Silver shows a simpler GST-collected-this-month tile on the dashboard instead of the full slab breakdown.
- Can I see GST collected for a custom date range, not just this month?
- Yes, on Gold and Platinum — the GST summary report accepts any date range, unlike the dashboard tile which is fixed to month-to-date.
FAQs
- Where do I find the GST summary report in Tiram?
- Reports → Insights → GST summary.
- What columns does the GST summary report show?
- Slab, Taxable value, CGST, SGST, IGST, and Total tax, with a totals row and KPI tiles for Total Taxable, Total Tax Collected, and Active Slabs.
- Does the GST summary report replace GSTR-1 filing?
- No — it's a sanity-check and analysis view. Use the dedicated GSTR-1 export to actually file your return.
- Is the GST summary report available on Silver?
- Not the full report — Silver still gets a GST-collected-this-month tile on the dashboard, but the per-slab breakdown, custom date ranges, and chart require Gold or Platinum.
- How is 'GST liability' different from 'GST payable'?
- In this report they mean the same thing: output GST collected on sales. Your true net GST payable also nets off input tax credit, which is calculated separately in the Profit & Loss report, not in this summary.
