Receivables aging report: how Tiram shows who owes you and how late
Quick answer
Tiram's Receivables report (Reports → Insights → Customers & Receivables) buckets every outstanding customer balance into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, and 90+ day aging bands, flags defaulters, and totals what's owed — so you know who to call first, not just how much is pending overall. Included on every Tiram plan.

Reading the aging buckets
| Aging bucket | What it usually means | Suggested action |
|---|---|---|
0–30 days | Normal, recent credit sales | No action needed yet |
31–60 days | Starting to age past typical terms | A friendly payment reminder |
61–90 days | Significantly overdue | A direct follow-up call |
90+ days | At real risk of non-payment | Credit hold + a firm collection conversation |
Workflow step
Why aging matters more than the total outstanding number
Two businesses can show the exact same total receivables — say, ₹5 lakh outstanding — and be in completely different positions. One where almost all of it is 0–30 days is healthy: customers are paying on their usual cycle. One where a large share is 90+ days is a real collection risk, even though the headline number looks identical. Aging is what turns a single total into an actionable risk picture.
Workflow step
How Tiram computes the aging buckets
Every issued invoice contributes its outstanding balance to one of four buckets — 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, or 90+ days — based on how long it's been since the invoice (or its due date) fell due, updated automatically as invoices age or get paid down. The report totals outstanding amount, the number of customers with a balance, and the number flagged as defaulters, alongside a bar or pie chart of the aging distribution.
Workflow step
The Defaulters view and customer status labels
A dedicated Defaulters tab lists exactly which customers have crossed into significantly overdue territory, alongside the same Current, Watch, Defaulter, and On hold status labels used on the customer ledger — so a collections conversation starts from the same shared picture the counter staff already see on that customer's profile.
Workflow step
Acting on the report: from insight to follow-up
The receivables report is a starting point for action, not just a number to check monthly: use it to prioritise collection calls by how overdue a balance is, put a chronic defaulter on credit hold before extending further khata, or — if you're on Gold or Platinum — send a WhatsApp payment reminder directly to a customer with an outstanding balance.
Workflow step
Exporting for a collections call or your CA
The full aging report exports to CSV, useful for a collections sprint (call down the list from most overdue), a CA handoff for provisioning bad-debt estimates, or a simple weekly check without opening Tiram at all.

Which Tiram plan includes receivables aging?
Receivables aging and the Defaulters view are included on every Tiram plan — Silver, Gold, and Platinum — on both the cloud app and the offline Windows/Mac desktop app. There is no upgrade required to see who owes you money and for how long.
Quick answers
- What is receivables aging?
- Receivables aging groups a business's unpaid customer balances by how overdue they are — typically 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, and 90+ day bands — to show which dues are healthy and which are at risk of non-payment.
- How do I know which customers owe me the most, and for how long?
- Tiram's Receivables report lists every customer with an outstanding balance, split across aging buckets, with a total and a defaulter flag, so you can prioritise follow-up by how overdue each balance is.
- What is a defaulter in billing software?
- A defaulter is a customer whose outstanding balance has aged significantly past normal payment terms — Tiram surfaces this as an automatic status label, visible on both the receivables report and the customer's own profile.
- Is receivables aging included in the free trial?
- Yes — it's included on every Tiram plan, including Silver, so it's available from the start of a trial, not held back for a higher tier.
FAQs
- Where do I find the receivables aging report in Tiram?
- Reports → Insights tab (or Operations tab) → Customers & Receivables → Receivables. It opens with Aging and Defaulters tabs.
- How are the aging buckets calculated?
- Each invoice's outstanding balance is bucketed by days since it fell due — 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, or 90+ — and recalculated automatically as time passes or payments are recorded.
- Can I export the receivables aging report?
- Yes, to CSV, for a collections sprint, a CA handoff, or an offline review.
- Does the report show which specific customers are defaulters?
- Yes. The Defaulters tab lists exactly which customers have crossed into significantly overdue status, alongside their outstanding amount.
- Which plan do I need for receivables aging?
- None — it's included on every Tiram plan, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, on both the cloud and offline desktop app.
- Can I follow up with a defaulting customer directly from Tiram?
- You can put a customer on credit hold from their profile, and — on the Gold and Platinum plans — send a WhatsApp payment reminder directly.
